Have you ever been in your car and wished for a better internet signal? Not that you’d use your smartphone while driving (right?) but when you’re parked or a passenger, internet access is always at a premium. Chevrolet is actually working on the technology to make fast in-car internet a reality. Let us here at McCluskey Automotive, your home for Cincinnati Ohio Used Cars, tell you more.

They’re actually going to make new Chevrolets into wi-fi hotspots! Currently, in-car hotspots are 3g at best, about the speed of a normal smartphone. With this new technology, Chevy’s in-car hotspots will be 4G LTE, which is 10 times faster! We here at Used Cars in Cincinnati Ohio can’t wait to give it a try!

“In addition to allowing consumers to bring in and connect to personal mobile devices, the vehicle will also act as its own mobile device, enabling embedded vehicle capabilities,” said Mary Chan, president, Global Connected Consumer, General Motors. “Turning this vision into a reality starts with enabling fast, reliable and responsive connectivity within the vehicle. Through this built-in 4G LTE connection we have the opportunity to reinvent the mobile experience inside a vehicle.”
