Along with its cousin the GMC Canyon, the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is getting a few pretty awesome safety features added. While the two mid-size pickup trucks won’t hit dealer showrooms until this fall, we got pretty excited when we heard about these upgrades that we thought we should share them with you now. One of those safety features involves car seats. As you may already know, car seat safety guidelines are rather strict, and for good reason. One of those recommendations is that at least eight-percent of the car seat must be supported by the lower seat cushion. In a pickup, that can be tricky. So engineers came up with the solution in which the passenger side head rest can be removed and inserted in the seat to support the child seat. Pretty awesome, we think. The trucks will also be the first mid-size trucks to have Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning systems as optional features.
