    Black Used Volkswagen Golf

The Volkswagen Golf was first produced in 1974 and was originally intended as a replacement for the Volkswagen Beetle. The Golf is a small family car that is now in its seventh generation. The Volkswagen Golf has been, over the years, Volkswagen’s best-selling vehicle, which makes it a great option for buying a used model and there are many variations available for sale. The Used Volkswagen Golf has won multiple awards including Car of The Year by Motor Trend, and European Car of The Year award, for two years.

Throughout the years, the Volkswagen Golf has remained a popular and well-received car that has performed well on the automotive market under several different names, like the Volkswagen Rabbit, and the Volkswagen Caribe. During initial production, most of the Golf models were made in the 3-door hatchback style. A wide variety of model styles, such as the 5-door hatchback, the station wagon (the Variant), a notchback sedan, alternatively known as the Volkswagen Jetta or Vento, and the convertible (Cabriolet and Cabrio), has made the Volkswagen Golf a popular model in many different areas of the automobile market.

During this fourth generation, Volkswagen also introduced a few sporty and high-performance models to the Golf line-up. There was a V6 engine four-wheel drive Golf, the R32 model, as well as the 1.8T four-cylinder engine combinations used in several existing high-performing Golf models.

In 2003, the start of the fifth generation, the Golf MK5 was introduced. During this time, Volkswagen also brought back the “Rabbit” name to its model series that was released in 2006. However, many will find the Golf to be the more common nameplate used while shopping for a used VW Golf. Under either name, this Golf model remained one of the top sellers for Volkswagen. Over the next few years, a few changes were made to the VW Golf.

In 2006, the Golf MK6 was released, and its new design boasted a sleeker, more aerodynamic styling that was intended to improve fuel-efficiency. The Golf MK6 model also had a diesel engine that was now available to American drivers. In 2012, the Golf MK6 was an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety top safety pick. In 2014, the Golf plus was introduced and featured a higher roofline, offering drivers and passengers a roomier ride in this popular compact car.
