    The Ford Flex debuted in 2009 with a unique design that caught the eye of the public. With large dimensions, spacious seating, and a frame similar to larger SUV’s, this was a powerful new vehicle that offered something different from the typical family minivan.

    The 2009 Flex is available with a standard 3.5L Duratec V6 engine, delivering 262 horsepower and available all-wheel-drive. Getting 24 mpg on the highway, this is a fuel-efficient large sized SUV with the cargo room and spacious, adult-sized back seats to suit any family.

    This used Ford Flex model also comes with three different trim options: the SE, the SEL, and the Limited. The base SE model comes with many convenient features including a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, cloth seating, keyless entry, and second-row air conditioning. The SEL trim comes with some extras like a 7-speaker audio system and subwoofer, a Ford SYNC screen, and a security system. Finally, the Limited trim is equipped with leather seats, driver memory system, and power moonroof to name just a few of the top-of-the-line features available with this popular trim.

    When it comes to the 2010 Ford Flex model, there was one major distinction from the previous year that increased its overall power and performance. Wanting to improve the horsepower and powertrain, Ford equipped this model with a second available engine option: the EcoBoost V6 engine. This upgraded the horsepower to 335 hp while still getting an economical 24 mpg on the highway. In addition, the limited edition trim on this used Ford Flex model was also upgraded to include a high tech rear vision camera for superior visibility. In 2011, the Ford Flex saw no significant changes.

    With two engine options available: the EcoBoost V6 engine and 3.5L Duratec V6 engine, plus 82.4 cubic feet of cargo space, this used Ford Flex model has plenty of options, power, and spacious seating to make commutes, pick-ups, and drop-offs a breeze.

    The 2012 model is equipped with a new, automatic parking system for upper-trim models. The automatic parking system is an autonomous car-maneuvering system which helps you parallel park, or perpendicular park your car.     2013 is the year where Ford started to employ some significant changes to the Ford Flex. Making some major body changes, the exterior design of the Ford Flex was changed to a single bar grille instead of a three-bar grille, the Ford emblem was decreased in size on the tailgate, and some of the sharper edges on the frame were rounded out.

    In addition, the manufacturers at Ford also delivered an interior upgrade with the 2013 model, including a number of new safety features such as the blind spot monitoring, a standard rearview camera, and adaptive cruise control. Not stopping there, this used Ford model also includes some new connectivity features like Bluetooth, MyFord touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12-speaker Sony audio system. In 2014, the Ford Flex saw no significant changes.

    The 2015 model of the Ford Flex included minor changes, including standard heated side mirrors to improve visibility and vigilance, as well as inflatable second-row seat belts.

    In addition, the 2015 Flex comes with the option to include premier bucket seats in the back rows, which reviewers have raved about. Comfortable and with plenty of legroom, the used Ford Flex has always been notable for its spacious seating options. However, be sure to note that with the available bucket seats the available seating will drop from 7 seats to 6.

  • 2016-2017

In addition, this new system includes voice recognition software so you can make calls and issue commands hands-free. For 2017, no significant changes were made to the Ford Flex.

  • 2018

    With the latest Ford Flex model on offer, this years model includes some new and impressive options. The 2018 model includes a 3.5L EcoBoost option, with a shifter button to override the automatic transmission so it feels more like a manual.

    In addition, the 2018 model is equipped with AdvanceTrac with roll stability control, which uses sensors to apply the brakes if a corner is taken too quickly and keeps your vehicle under control. This vehicle is also available with trailer sway control, which uses sensors to determine if trailering swaying is detected and automatically applies the brakes to bring your trailer back in line.

    Finally, the 2018 Ford Flex offers MyKey technology, which improves the safety of every driver and passenger in your family. MyKey technology can restrict the vehicle’s top speed, mute audio until all passengers are buckled, and limits audio volume. This ensures that if you have a teen driver, they will always remain safe.
